New Addition

The newest addition to my craft room! I found this little blue gem on Craigslist and got it for only $20.00!!! I have been searching for one for a while and they are pretty pricey when you find them. I am excited to call this one mine. It even came with the original paperwork in the case. I cleaned it and oiled it up. The ribbon is even still in pretty good shape. Can't wait to put it to use on my Project Life pages!

Wood Veneers

These make me so happy. All if my wonderful new wood veneers in my most recent thrift store find-vintage metal measuring cups. I also got a vintage green carry-on suitcase. Thinking of using it to hold all of my clear stamp sets. Not sure yet. Happy crafting.

Project Life Cards

So lately I have been obsessed with the 3x4 Project Life cards. I love making them. They are finished and there is a sense of having accomplished something. As my stash of 6x6 paper pads grows so does my stash of Project Life cards! I love them!!!

Collage Art #2

Today I did another page in my collage art book. The base is Mango paint by Making Memories. I used some leftover marine alpha stickers for the word "art", rub ons, , blue and white paint, a journal stamp and some tiny type letter stickers. Add in some papers from the scrap drawer and some hole reinforcers and today's collage is complete. Happy creating!

Handmade Tags

I've been working away in my craft room today on my unexpected day off. While working on my Project Life I needed a little journaling tag so I decided to make up a whole batch just to have on hand. I started with a 12x12 sheet of white card stock and cut it down to size using a premise American Crafts tag as a template. For the colored holes I painted some hole reinforcers red with craft paint.

Collage Art

Today I am home from work with my daughter who had some oral surgery on Friday. Bless her heart she is still swollen and not feeling well. In between heating up KFC mashed potatoes and doing laundry I decided to start on my collage art journal. My first two page spread started off with Caribbean blue Apple Barrel paint and a pile of scrap paper I gathered from the scrap drawer. The quote is cut from an old 2011 calendar. Add in some washi tape, a tag, white ink splats, a doily and dyed lace trim and there you have it. Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed the art!

Repurposed Mirror

I'm currently in the middle of doing a few updates in my studio and I have been searching for something pretty to hang above my desk. I have had an old mirror with a gold ornate frame sitting in our sun porch forever collecting dust. I decided to transform it into something useful. I removed the mirror and painted the frame with white spray paint. I cut some foam core to size and covered it with the material I chose for my new curtains. I painted out some chipboard letters from Hobby Lobby that I have had forever with pink paint which is the accent color in my room. I think the result turned out beautifully!

Birthday Layout

I'm taking advantage of the creative mood I have been in to do an actual 12x12 layout. The pictures are from my daughter and her boyfriends birthday lunch. Their birthdays happen to be a day apart!

I started with white cardstock and added some India ink paint splatters. Next I sprayed on some Yellow Daisy Glimmer Mist. I used washi tape to make some borders and accents along with a paper doily and some sequins from my stash. I added in some black glitter alphas and some red tiny type alphas for the title. The butterfly is a TH movers die. Last I got out my sewing machine and added some stitching.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dollar Tree Shadow Box

I picked up this little wooden shadow box at the Dollar Tree a while back. Since then it's just been sitting in my craft room collecting dust. Today I decided it was time his little $1 it's got a transformation. I painted the box with vanilla craft paint and used a MME Miss Caroline 6x6 paper pad to back all the little compartments. I scoured through my stash for items that looked vintage and matched the papers I chose. I used some TH bingo chips, kaiser craft die cuts, Authentique alpha stickers, washi tapes, bakers twine and a few vintage items from my stash. I distressed it with some vintage photo Distress Ink and there you have it. A new decoration for my space!

Mini Drawers

These little drawers are made by Kaiser Craft and I used some of the new Bo Bunny Little Miss papers covered in Distress Crackle paint to decorate. The flowers are I Am Roses colored with Glimmer Mist. Add in a few Martha punched butterflies accented with Diamond Stickles and there you have it. A beautifully decorated set of mini drawers!

Destinations Class

I've been working diligently on the project for my upcoming travel class featuring the Destinations kit by Simple Stories. This kit has some of the most beautiful and easy to work with elements. Here is a sneak peak of the American Crafts 8x8 album using some Ali Edwards stamps by Technique Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by!

Decorated Momogram

I created this monogram "K" as a gift for a girl I work with. She is expecting a baby girl whose name is Kelli. The nursery is done in ladybugs. I used a wooden K from Micheal's along with some Prima flowers, Recollections bling and ladybug buttons. I also used some glossy accents on the dots on the paper. Throw in some ribbon and feathers and there you have it. A beautiful monogram for baby Kelli.

Valentine's Gifts

Well tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I have been working on the gifts for my hubby and my oldest daughter's boyfriend. The hubby loves to fish and the bf loves baseball. I wanted to do the candy bouquets so I bought some dollar glass bowls and painted the inside white. Next I used a red sharpie on both to make one into a baseball and the other into a bobber. I hot glued all the decorations to bamboo skewers and used floral foam inside the bowls to hold the goodies in place. Thanks for stopping by!

Repurpose

I'm sure lots of us have one of these Sizzix die towers sitting in a corner. I hated to just throw it out so I decided to put it to use. It works well for storing distress inks with the matching blender pad. You could also fit the re-inker in there too if you have it. With both sides you can store 26 distress ink pads! (You can also store regular ink pads if you don't use the distress inks.)

PL Title Page

I finally completed my PL Title Page. Leave a comment and let me know what you think. U can see these page protectors are going to take a little getting used to.

So Here It Is...

My Project Life all laid out ready to go. I am having trouble with the title page. Do you ever have that feeling that something just HAS to be perfect? I mean, this is the FIRST page after all. The thing that everyone will see first! Anyways, I am working on a more permanent home, a Project Life station if you will, in a different spot in my craft room where I can keep it out and things won't get piled on top of it. This island seems to be the catch-all in my space. When I get that all worked out I will post about it. For now I have my binder, planner, post-it's, Clementine core kit and I used the box lid to hold some stuff I dug up in my stash. I also put the wire basket out to hold all the "stuff" from daily life. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more from my PL adventure!

A Little Art

A girl I work with loves my art so I made this this mixed media canvas for her birthday using decoupage, old pattern tissue, sheet music and ledger paper for the background. I added some of my dyed flower trim and twine alone with some chipboard and handwritten lettering. I splattered some India ink and I finished it off with some canvas butterflies colored with glimmer mist and sprinkled with glitter. Hope she likes it!

Project Life-Binder

So for my 2012 PL I chose a beautiful blue American Crafts 3-ring binder. These are my favorite albums. I did a little decorating on the front with foam number stamps and some Technique Tuesday stamps by Ali Edwards. I ordered 2 packs of style A page protectors and I finally did give in and order the Clementine Core Kit. Hopefully it will arrive this week. Looking forward to getting started putting it together. I downloaded the Photo 365 app for my iPhone to help me out and it has a daily reminder to keep me on track.
